B1- Personal Progression
Here is my progression routes analysis, I analysed 4 different career paths in depth and researched different options I could take within these. This includes research of different universities, apprenticeships and jobs. I researched the benefits within each path and how I could apply that to myself for my future career. This was very useful for me as it gave me a good insight as to which pathway would be more beneficial to me and which could help me achieve my chosen career as well.

Career Road Map
Here is my career road map, I researched and made note of which milestones I will have to reach to achieve my career goals. I did this so that I could visualise my goals and a map of how to get there. This is beneficial to me as I can use it as a clear outline to reach my targets to get where I need to be to make progress.
5 Year Planner
Here is my 5 year plan. This is a clear layout of how I plan to spend the next 5 years of my life to be beneficial to me and my career. I did this so I have a detailed description of how to make my plans possible, also highlighting the benefit and gain I would get from each step I take.
Brand Analysis
Here is my brand analysis. Before I completed my logo analysis and drafted up my own logos, I researched different film and tv production companies and their logos. I analysed their font choices, colour schemes and designs. These are all factors that contribute greatly to the effectiveness of a logo. And these different tips and tricks that these logos used, I applied to my own, such as eye catching colours and unique designs.
Platform Analysis
Here is my platform analysis. I analysed different platforms and their use for garnering a following and promoting brands. I researched social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. This is a useful analysis for me as I upload content onto social media regularly. I did this so I could get a better understanding of what platforms could benefit me and my branding as a filmmaker.
Logo Analysis
Here is my logo analysis, a logo should be unique but memorable, here are some drafts I made on canvas. I went through many drafts before I could find one that I believed was unique, memorable and true to my brand. I did this so that I could bring my brand and plans into fruition and get a better understanding as to what my brand is.
Industry Professionals
Here are two artists that I have been following for some time. They upload content onto similar platforms that I do and create similar art, some of which I have been inspired by. I analysed their use of their platforms and how they were able to promote their events and projects via social media and their platforms. I did this so that I could take note of how to successfully utilise your platform for your art and your brand/business.
Do's and Don's of Digital Footprint
Here is an analysis of how to manage and control your digital footprint. This is important within the media industry, as social media accounts and digital port folios are such a common practise when hiring. I did this so that I could remain aware about my online presence as this is something that could hinder your experiences of looking for work online
Creative CV Analysis
Here you can see my analysis of different creative CV examples. I made note of what qualities these CVs have, that I can apply to my own creative CV which I drafted and provided here as well. Some of the notable qualities these CVs have are, efficient usage of space, legible, and containing a list of your relevant skills. I did this so I could understand what makes a CV stand out and make a good impression on any employer.
Unique Selling Points
Unique Selling Points
Here you can see I created a mind map of my 'unique selling points' as a filmmaker. I created this so that I could look within myself as an aspiring freelancer and work out what would make my services more valuable to other completion. I chose selling points that may be present in other filmmakers, but these points are done in a way that is specific to me.
SWOT Analysis
This is an analysis I made of my strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities and threats. These are all factors that will come into play as to how successful you are as a freelancer. I made this so that I could have an understanding as to what will help me working as a filmmaker, and things that may hold me back. Addressing these factors early on in my career is beneficial as it gives me time to work on these weaknesses so I can continue to grow as a freelancer.
Networking
Here is a brief guide on how to present yourself at a networking event, these types of events are a great opportunity to get your name out there and subject yourself as a possible contender for work within the film industry. I made this so that I could have understandable techniques as to how to effectively network when I attend these types of events in the future. This type of event shouldn't be overcomplicated as this may harm your chances to effectively network.
Interview Preparation
We conducted interviews that had questions relevant to the career path we want to go down. For me this was creative direction for fashion film. After these interviews we were provided with feedback from our peers. We explained what went well in our interviews, and points we could work on. One thing I did well was I came across clear and well spoken giving good insight to my understanding of the chosen job roll. One point I could work on is holding myself to industry standard, by using industry terms and working on professionalism.
Website and Social Media Development
I created my own professional website and designed the front page to align with my brand. The distorted and graphic fonts that I used for titles and headings throughout, enhance my colourful and maximalist approach to filmmaking and any projects I have done in the past. You can see my name, my online alias, and my showreel. My showreel was curated using clips of some of my favourite and best quality shots in my experience as a filmmaker.
My about me has a picture of myself from a day of, a brief summary of my skills as a filmmaker. It also has links to my professional social media page on Instagram.
My projects page has each project I have accomplished during my time in this course. It is in chronological order so you can see my techniques as a filmmaker evolve.
